In desperate need of help! I'm going on a date this weekend, and I've been wanting to try the menswear for women look for a while, and I think this is a good time to start. The problem is, I'm kind of curvy. Do you have anything in mind that would look good on me?
The problems of being a woman, no matter our size most of us have hips to contend with! I definitely recommend getting women’s pants. J Crew has the waverly chino that I think is an awesome option. On top I personally wear men’s shirts but I’m also pretty tall… you have to remember that men’s shirts DO NOT account for lady hips and will be slimmer through the waste and broader at the shoulder. Club Monaco and J Crew both tend to have great shirt options for both men and women. Check this out too… layers are awesome, especially in winter. You can layer henleys, sweaters, cardigans, and coats and achieve a menswear inspired look without anything too fitted. To avoid accentuating curves go with solid colors or subtle all over patterns, and never horizontal stripes. I’d generally stick to darker colors as well.
Sorry if this was a very delayed response, I just saw this message and hope it wasn’t too late for your date!
